I have a subaru and as of late it has developed an AC problem. if you are on a trip, after about an hour the AC stops working. the fan quits blowing. the vehicle will stay kind of cool but will not blow. when you stop and come out it looks like a swimming pool around the car. is something freezing over and causing the AC to quit working? and if so what is the solution?

Well winter is coming on now so you won't the need the AC so don't worry about it.
On the other hand it does sound as though you have a freezing issue. Most likely the evaporator freezing up because the compressor isn't cycling on and off correctly, if it stays on constantly it will cause the evaporator to freeze.
